【解説】 助動詞 ｍｕｓｔ　

　

　１．[ 〜 しなければならない ] は have to 〜 の他に [ ｍｕｓｔ ]を使っても表せる。

　

　　　　 Ｉ have to help my mother．　　　 私は (私の)母を手伝わなくてはなりません。

　　　　　　　↓

　　　　 Ｉ　must　 help my mother．　　　 私は (私の)母を手伝わなくてはなりません。

　

　

　２．[ ｍｕｓｔ ] は [ 助動詞 ]なので動詞の前に置き、[ 後の動詞は原形 ]にする。

　

　　　　 She　　　studies English．

　　　　　　　　　　 ↓

　　　　 She must study　 English．　(動詞は原形にする)

　

　３．must の否定文[ must not 〜 ]は[〜 してはならない]で、否定の命令文とほぼ同じ意味。

　　　　　　(mustn't)

　　　　 You must not watch TV．　 あなたは テレビを見てはなりません。

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　(ほぼ同じ)

　　　　 Don't watch TV．　　　　　テレビを見てはいけません。

　

　

　４．mustの[ 疑問文は mustを文の先頭 ]に置く。また、Ｎｏのときの答え方に注意する。

　

　　　　 Must Ｉ help my mother？　　　 私は (私の)母を手伝わなくてはなりませんか。

　

　　　　　　　Yes，you must．　　　　　 はい、手伝わなくてはなりません。

　

　　　　　　　No，you don't have to．　 いいえ、手伝わなくてもいいです。
