【解説】 比較的長いつづりの比較級，最上級

　

　１．比較的長いつづりの語の比較級は 単語の後に[ er を付けない ] で、

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　 単語の前に [ more ]をつけて比較級にする。

　

　　(普通の文)　 This bird is　　　beautiful．　　　　　　　　この鳥は 美しい。

　

　 (比較級の文)　This bird is more beautiful than that one．　この鳥は あの鳥より美しい。

　

　

　

　２．[ 最上級 ] も比較級と同様に単語の後に [ est を付けない ] で、単語の前に

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　 [ the most ] をつける。

　

　　(普通の文)　 This bird is　　　　　beautiful．　　　　 この鳥は 美しい。

　

　 (最上級の文)　This bird is the most beautiful of the three．

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　この鳥は ３羽の中で最も美しい。

　

　

　３．覚えておくべきmore，mostを使う単語　(３音節以上の単語と２音節で−ful，−ousで終わる語)
